Warriors Women climbed off the bottom of the Future Series table with a 179-run victory over Northern Cricket Union Women.

Captain Lucy McGranaghan and Sarah Black laid the foundations with an opening stand of 133. McGranaghan struck five fours in a composed 45 before Emily Calvert made the breakthrough, but Black continued to dominate.

The Donemana batter reached her maiden century, but only after a scare as she was dropped on 99, hitting 13 fours and two sixes in 101 from 87 deliveries. 

Ella Wasson added 18 before Millie Spence accelerated, racing to 50 from 34 balls with seven boundaries. 

Jodie Spence then hammered 33 from 22 deliveries, including two sixes, while Kia McCartney’s unbeaten 25 helped the Warriors post an imposing 321 for five from 40 overs. 

The NCU reply never recovered after Eglinton's Jenni Jackson dismissed Erin Bond and Georgia Wilson cheaply. Emily Carville was run out for eight and captain Taila Hurley’s 27 provided only brief resistance.

Sophie Hamilton claimed two wickets, while McCartney also struck and the Warriors produced three run-outs during an excellent fielding display. Penny Speer offered defiance with an unbeaten 29, but Jackson returned to dismiss Vanessa Minford for 10.

The NCU were bowled out for 142, with Jackson finishing with three for 20.
