Bready’s fine run of form continued as they recovered from a disastrous start to beat St Johnston by 46 runs.

Nathan Cole struck three times with the new ball, removing Kenzie Hall, Suyesh Kumar and Josh van Heerden to leave Bready reeling at six for three.

David Rankin and Kyle Magee rebuilt the innings with a crucial 96-run partnership. Rankin made 43, while Magee struck 49 from 66 balls.

Cameron McClay then anchored the lower order with an unbeaten 45, while Nathan McCombe added a brisk 28 not out as Bready recovered to post 215 for eight.

St Johnston began their reply positively through Jack Macbeth’s 36 and Subhan Shirzad’s 34, but regular wickets stalled the chase.

David Scanlon led the Bready attack with three for 35, while Charlie Downey and McClay claimed two wickets apiece.

St Johnston were eventually dismissed for 169 in 42 overs, allowing Bready to maintain their strong recent momentum and stay fourth in the table, while St Johnston stay rooted to the bottom.
