Blake MacDonald's century and Harry Tector's three vital wickets were the catalyst for Pembroke's 81-run win over Clontarf in the Leinster Senior Cup final.

The Australian overseas professional rewrote the records with a stunning unbeaten 263 at North County, and while nowhere that score on Saturday, his century was the bedrock of Pembroke's win on home soil.

'Supermac' shared stands of 49 with Andy Balbirnie (32), 56 with Harry Tector (8) and 76 for the fourth with Lorcan Tucker (37) on his way to a 97-ball 107 that included 8 fours and 5 sixes.

At 186 for 3 in the 34th over, the Sydney Parade faithful would have hoped for a total of around 300, but Clontarf fought back to take seven wickets for 58 runs as the hosts were bowled out for 244.

'Tarf skipper David Delany and Reuben Wilson each took three wickets, while there were two for John McNally.

The chase started brightly enough and at 47 for one it was honours even. However, the momentum quickly changed as Harry Tector took three wickets including Curtis Campher and Patrick Xie for ducks.

It was 61 for 5 and effectively game over.

Reuben Wilson's unbeaten 30 gave the final result an air of respectability but it was in truth a disappointing effort by the Castle Avenue side given their batting riches.

Pembroke and Clontarf are embrolied in a race for the title with leaders Leinster, while Clontarf have the little matter of an Irish Cup final against Balbriggan in two weeks' time so there is plenty of opportunity for silverware before the curtain falls on the campaign.
