Hunter and Prendergast see Dragons to Super 50 title

An Amy Hunter century and five wickets for Orla Prendergast led the Dragons to the Super 50 title with a record-breaking 274-run win over the Scorchers at Wallace Park.

Irish international Hunter hit 15 fours and three sixes in an 111-ball 155, sharing a match-defining fourth wicket partnership of 172 with Arlene Kelly, who hit seven boundaries in an even-time 70.

There were also runs for Bella Armstrong (29) and Abbi Harrison (21*) in a Dragons record total of 346 for six.

The reply was all about Orla Prendergast's new-ball burst that saw her claim five wickets for just four runs as the Scorchers were bundled out for just 72.

Louise Little and Sophie MacMahon each made 19 in a totally one-sided affair.

Jenni Jackson took two for 28, while there were also a wicket apiece for Alana Dalzell and Cara Murray.

The Dragons win ensured the title, and they will be keen to retain the T20 Cup, when it gets underway at Bready on Sunday with a double-header.
