It was a day to remember for Kia and Kenya McCartney who helped Coleraine beat fancied Bready in the Women's Senior Cup.

Firstly, Ireland's most recent international Kia top-scored with 62 (8 fours) as she and Eva Gaston (30) added 87 in 11 overs to rescue their side from a precarious 67 for 5 to post 169 - three wickets apiece for Alexa Barr and Kaylee Barnard.

That total was boosted by no fewer than 50 extras - that included 40 wides and 5 no-balls.

Rarely does a side win matches when they are so generous as the cricketing gods frown upon such wastefulness.

Bready did start the chase well as they raced to 94 in an opening stand between Millie Spence - who top-scored with 53 from 44 balls (4 fours) - and Alana Dalzell (26).

However, the dismissal of Dalzell for 27 - the first of four wickets for Kenya McCartney - opened the door for the Bannsiders who smashed it down to record a well deserved 16-run win.

Kaylee Barnard made an unbeaten 26, but Connie Block and Tillie O'Hara each took two wickets to join in McCartney's effort to seal the win.

Holders Fox Lodge were given a walkover after Eglinton forfeited their match.
