MCC edged to a 14-runs (DLS) win against North West Warriors despite an unbeaten century from Scott Macbeth.

Chasing a revised target of 237 in a game reduced to 30 overs by rain, the North West lost Liam Doherty and Gavin Roulston cheaply.

Macbeth though found willing partners in Raymond Curry and Jared Wilson, who each scored 38, while Harry Zimmermann made an unbeaten 23.

The Ireland U19 international reached his 100 off the final ball of the innings as they made 222 for 4, hitting 7 fours and clearing the ropes three times in his 83-ball stay after coming to the crease in the second over.

Earlier, Scott (3/41) had also been among the wickets as he and elder brother Ryan (3/26) each took three wickets.

Strabane captain Aaron Gillespie made 59 while Sanil Gupta* hit 82 in a third wicket stand of 109.

There were also runs for Michael Hogan (25*) as MCC made 225//8 - adjusted upwards by DLS.

The MCC will play a week of matches in the North later this summer.
