Ireland have been handed a tough draw in the 50 overs World Cup Qualifiers that take place in Zimbabwe next month.

Heinrich Malan's side have been drawn in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Scotland, Oman and the UAE.

Ireland have been seeded third, with West Indies (1) and Sri Lanka (2) th favourites to progress to the World Cup in India this October.

Group B will be based in Bulawayo, while the Group A sides are in Harare.

The Group A sides are West Indies, hosts Zimbabwe , Netherlands, Nepal and USA.

The tournament runs from June 18 to July 9 with the two remaining qualification slots to be determined.

It promises to be quite a cut-throat tournament with so much at stake.

Ireland missed out on qualification for the 2019 tournament, with their last appearance being the 2015 World Cup in Australia.
