Jack Carson has given Irish fans a reminder of what they have been missing with a five-star showing for Sussex in their ongoing County Championship match with Yorkshire.

The 22 year-old off-spinner took 5 for 79 including the wickets of internationals Dawid Malan and Shai Hope.

He also showed his batting ability with 26 as the last Sussex wicket added 57 runs in what could be a vital match defining partnership.

The Waringstown born all-rounder featured for the England Lions in Sri Lanka earlier this year, taking nine wickets in the two first-class games against Sri Lanka A.
