Josh Little and Craig Young have been named in the Ireland squad that will take on Bangladesh in three World Cup Super League matches next month.

The pair missed the recent series loss to the Asian side with Little heading to the IPL and North Down speedster Young recovering from his long-term injury issues.

It's hoped the pair will add some quality and bite to an attack that was taken to the cleaners by Bangladesh in the three ODI's as they ran up record totals of 338/8 and 349/6 before winning the last game by 10 wickets in just 13 overs.

It was hoped that three wins for Heinrich Malan's side would be enough for an automatic qualification berth but following South Africa's comprehensive wins over The Netherlands, nit only do the Irish have to get a clean sweep, the winning margin has to be a combined 250 runs or 50 overs approximately.

The Irish hierarchy controversially gave up home advantage in order to give the matches the best chances of the games taking place - with Chelmsford now taking the games on May 9, 12 and 14.

Ben White, Tom Mayes and Matthew Humphreys are the trio excluded from the ODI squad - the latter doing examinations at Trinity.

Conor Olphert was also unavailable due to exams, while Ross Adair had work commitments.

Ireland Wolves are also playing their first game in 13 months as they provide Bangladesh with a warm-up game behind closed doors.

PJ Moor skippers the side which also features Murray Commins of The Hills and Brigade's Scott Macbeth.
