It's all change at CIYMS with plenty of transfer activity over the close season, with John Matchett taking over the captaincy reins from Nigel Jones.

Jones has moved to pastures new at Lisburn, while James Cameron-Dow is at Waringstown, Jacob Mulder has returned to North Down, and Graham Kennedy is staying in Australia.

Ed Nuttall is the new overseas professional, taking over from Keith Dudgeon, while former Ardmore professional Tyron Koen is now resident here. Others joining are Irish passport holder Theo van Woerkom and Mark Best.

“Everyone at CI is really excited for the season to kick off," skipper John Matchett told CricketEurope.

"We are just off the back of a really good ten days in Spain at the ECL, which will hopefully help us hit the ground running.

"We have had a bit of movement in the squad with a few guys moving on to other clubs but we are really excited about the group we have this year.

"We are delighted to welcome both Ed and Theo from Canterbury who will bring a wealth of experience to the team, and Tyrone Koen joining from Ardmore who has really impressed throughout the winter.

"The season should provide great opportunities to a number of young players, especially Carson McCullough and Adam Kennedy who were both very impressive in Spain and have really worked hard on their game over the winter.

"Obviously last year was a very successful year for the club, with the first 1XI winning five trophies and we are really excited to back it up again this season.”

CIYMS begin their Premier League programme on Saturday April 22nd with a home fixture against Carrickfergus at Belmont.
