There was sad news for the North West cricket fraternity over the weekend with the sudden death of Ash Buchanan.

The 34 year-old played for Donemana, winning a Senior Cup medal in 2020, as well as Killyclooney and Bonds Glen.

North West Chairman Brian Dougherty paid tribute to the all-rounder.

"We are shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Ashley Buchanan.

"Ash was well known in cricketing circles as a competitive player with Killyclooney, Donemana and Bond's Glen.

"He was popular, affable and well liked across the North West and will be sorely missed.

"I send my sincere condolences to his family, friends and team-mates."

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Funeral arrangements later.
