Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast has been included in the MVP squad for the T20 World Cup which has just finished in South Africa.

The Pembroke players hit 107 runs at 27.25 and an impressive strike-rate, as well as taking three wickets at 26 with an economy rate of just 6.

“It’s great recognition for Orla, who had a tremendous tournament for us with both bat and ball," said Head Coach Ed Joyce.

"She has been in exceptional form since returning from injury last year - and it’s great to see the cricket world starting to recognise the talent in Irish cricket coming through that we have known for several years now.

"While this is a personal recognition for Orla, I hope that it will instil even more belief in the wider squad that we can match it with the best and deserve our place on the world stage.”
