A fine all-round display by Ben Rose saw Instonians win a last-ball thriller against Woodvale in their rearranged T20 Premier League match at Ballygomartin Road.

First, he and Andrew White (3-21) claimed three wickets apiece as Inst pegged Woodvale back from 69 for 1 to 97 all out, many perishing in the chase for quick runs.

Aditya Adey (26), James Hall (22) and Ruhan Pretorius (21) all got starts but couldn't kick on to deliver the innings required.

A target of 98 looked to be a routine one, but it proved anything but as Woodvale battled all the way.

Ben Rose batting

Hall (2-12) and Pretorius (2-21) were in the wickets, and it took 31 from Cade Carmichael and some last gasp heroics from Rose, who hit the only six of the innings in his unbeaten 20 to ensure their first points of the season in a nervy finish.

There are two further rearranged games tonight (THURS) as North Down entertain CSNI, while Cregagh take on CIYMS.
