Cliftonville Academy have signed South African Senuran Muthusamy as their overseas professional on a short-term deal as cover for Dominic Hendricks whose arrival has been delayed.

Muthusamy is a 28 year-old left-arm spinner and left-handed batsman, who played two Tests against India in 2019.

The South African arrives in good fettle, having scored a century for North West against Western Province last month.

Cliftonville Academy take on North Down in the Premier League opener on Saturday, with action at the Castle Grounds getting underway at 11.30am.

Elsewhere, Carrickfergus host Cregagh (11am), Waringstown entertain Woodvale, CSNI face Instonians, while CIYMS have home advantage over Lisburn.
