CREGAGH

  • Captain - Aaron Johnston
  • Vice-captain - Danny Cooper
  • Players in - Sathish Suresh
  • Player to watch - Jay Hunter

It's an exciting time for Cregagh who are back in the Premier League for 2022. The Belfast club have gone from strength to strength in recent times and are embracing this new challenge.

The club have retained all their successful squad that earned promotion, and have added Sathish Suresh to their ranks, who is currently studying at Queen's University.

Aaron Johnston is at the helm and has Danny Cooper as his deputy for the campaign.

"It feels good to be able to say that Cregagh are back in the top flight of NCU cricket after so many years away," Johnston told CricketEurope.

"This has been a target of ours in recent times and we believe we've built a young, hungry squad that are capable of competing.

"We've been training indoors since October in order to prepare ourselves and we feel ready to get started come the end of April.

"The squad remains consistent with one addition which will greater improve our depth. Our player to watch this year is Jay Hunter, who had an impressive season last time out, scoring over 1000 runs and being a big contributor to our success in recent years.

"I'm sure Jay will be looking to continue this season and we'll be hoping he has plenty more runs left in the tank for us.

"The quality in the Premier League continues to improve and we are looking forward to testing ourselves, which is the reward for years of hard work put in by this group."
