It's been a turbulent few seasons at Instonians as the Shaws Bridge club have invested in youth as the way forward.

There are signs that the policy could be bearing fruit, but with player availability being an issue, there could be further short-term pain.

"Life at Instonians is a a bit unsettled at present as we lose a lot of our young players for a short period to their university studies in England and Scotland," said former Irish international Andrew White.

"That said, we have a strong squad to draw on with many of our players having more and more experience behind them to draw on. Noteably, Robert McKinley returns after taking a year out to focus on work commitments and his all round ability will be a huge asset.

"We are also delighted to have Daniel Rose joining from Wellington, New Zealand and he will add an extra dimension to our seam bowling attack. The number of players determined to push for higher honours is encouraging.

"We have increasing expectations at the club as the young players mature but itís hard to look any further beyond the opening league game against CSNI."
