Carrickfergus enjoyed trophy success in 2021 and are keen to add more cups to the cabinet in 2022.

There has been a bit of player movement over the close season with Neil Gill returning to Muckamore, while Graeme McCarter is back in the North West at Brigade.

On the plus side former Ireland Under 19 international Craig Averill joins from Eglinton, while Chris Poole and Dan Kearsley have been added from CIYMS and Dundrum respectively.

The prolific Jacques Snyman is their overseas professional again, while Michael Gilmour takes the captain's armband once more.

"We are very excited now things are back to normal this year, after the the last two seasons," said Gilmour.

"Our squad is shaping up nicely with the addition of some new and younger faces. We are an ambitious group and we hope that we have put the injuries that dogged us during the latter part of last season behind us, and can build on our success.

"It's great to have Jacques Snyman back as our overseas professional, and with players like Jeremy Lawlor, CJ van der Walt, and now Craig Averill in the squad we hope to add another trophy to last year's success in the T20 Cup.

"The standard in the Premier League continues to go from strength to strength, and we will first and foremost want to secure a top six place, and then see where that takes us in the second half of the season."
