A depleted Irish party has arrived in Florida with positive Covid test results forcing a change to travel plans for a number of the squad.

Ireland have recalled Josh Little from his stint in the LPL to bolster a squad that has been hit by positive Covid tests.

Five of the players and Assistant Coach Gary Wilson are not able to join up with the rest of the travelling party and are currently in varying stages of their quarantine isolation periods.

Barry McCarthy and George Dockrell were unable to fly out as they both returned positive results in pre-series testing.
They will shortly complete their isolation and will fly out once they return a negative PCR test result.

Harry Tector and Gareth Delany, who were already in Florida taking part in the US Open T20 Tournament, have both tested positive prior to joining up with the Irish squad and have begun a 10 day in-room isolation.

Craig Young has been identified as a close-contact of a positive case and is subject to NI guidelines which prevent him from travelling for 10 days, and subject to a negative PCR test at that point.

Also not on the flight was Assistant Coach Gary Wilson, who may have received a false positive in pre-series testing, but who nonetheless is required to be re-tested, and if cleared to fly may be travelling as soon as Sunday.

Cricket Ireland is hopeful that travelling with an extended squad and the recall of Josh Little will mean that their series versus USA will be minimally affected, if at all.
