A clinical all-round display by Balbriggan saw them beat North Kildare by an emphatic 167 runs to ensure they will play Premiership cricket next season.

Man of the Match Connor Fletcher dominated an opening stand of 63 with Ghanim Dar (18), before the latter and Farooq Nasr fell in the space of four balls.

Thereafter Balbriggan took hold of the contest and never relinquished their grip,

Fletcher hit nine boundaries as he top-scored with 81, sharing a third wicket stand of 94 win 17 overs with Greg Ford, who hit 61 from 65 balls (6 fours, 1 six).

The momentum was kept up despite the pair falling in the search for quick runs, with Chris De Freitas making an unbeaten 53 in better than even time, adding 47 with Nathan Rooney (21) and 48 with Dylan Lues (30*) to help Balbriggan to a challenging 276 for 7.

Dylan Lues (4-30) and Andrew Darroch (2-19) then claimed early wickets to rock the top order, and despite some resistance from Manjeet Singh (34) and Imran Ul-Haq (31), the result was never in doubt.

The end came rather quickly as North Kildare lost their last six wickets for 12 runs. going from 103 for 4 in 115 all out, with Chris De Freitas taking 3 for 11 - the final margin 167 runs.

Well done to Head Coach Andre Botha on gaining promotion in his first season at the helm. You get the feeling this could be the start of something special for the Fingal club.
