It’s advantage Brigade after the end of another rain affected day at Eglinton in the North West Senior Cup final.
The Beechgrove side did well to add 92 runs to their overnight 126 for 4 to gain what could well prove to be a crucial 48-runs first innings advantage.
Simon Dunn (3-23) removed dangerous hitters Andy Britton (19) and David Murdock (6), and when Jamie Millar trapped former team mate Ross Allen for 39, Brigade’s lead was just 24.
Successful appeal by Jamie Millar
However Ryan Barr (29*) and Ryan Macbeth plundered 24 runs from the last two overs to seize the initiative.
Macbeth then removed Jamie Millar and Scott Adair cheaply, while Nick Donnell bowled first innings Craig Averill for 0, to further tighten their grip on proceedings.
Tommy Orr (33*) is still there along with Robbie Miillar (11*) as Eglinton moved to 66 for 3 in the 17th over – a lead of 18 - before a torrential downpour saw play abandoned in mid-afternoon.
Play continues on Sunday at 11am.
