Ireland Under 19s secured a morale boosting penultimate ball win against the MCC in Oak Hill on Wednesday.
David Vincent's unbeaten half century was the catalyst for the two-wicket, as he and Cameron Doak (16*) shared a ninth wicket stand of 44 after the Irish teenagers were struggling on 141 for 8 chasing 185.
David Vincent scored 50 not out
There were runs too for Ewan Wilson (30), Nathan McGuire (21), Matthew Humphreys (19), while Phillipe Le Roux and James Forbes both scored 16.
MCC fielded a strong line up, including PJ Moor who was captain for the day.
Fiachra Tucker (3-36) and Fionn Hand (2-29) were the main wicket takers.
David Delany top scored with 70 not out (6 fours, 1 six) in the MCC inns, adding 58 for the 9th wicket with Cillian McDonnell (22).
Skipper Jack Tector (32) and Fiachra Tucker (19) had put on 56 for the first wicket, but wickets for the spinning triumvirate of Nathan McGuire (3-37), David Vincent (3-39), and Cameron Doak (2-29) - including the prize scalp of Moor for a single - switched the momentum of the game.
The Irish Under 19s finish their Future Series campaign when they take on the Emerging Knights in a T20 series at Carrickfergus.
