Half centuries from Max Burton and Morgan Topping helped the Emerging Knights to a comprehensive 170-run win against Munster Heat in Kildare.

Burton was his usual free scoring self, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes in his 71 from 69 balls, sharing stands of 51 with skipper John Matchett (34) for the second wicket, and 76 with Morgan Topping for the third.

There were two wickets apiece for skipper Matthew Brewster (2-44) and Harvey Wootton (2-50).

The exertions in the sweltering head took its toll on the Munster batting as they could only muster 81 all out, with Wootton (20*) and Murtaza Siddiqui (20) the only players to reach double figures.

The Knights bowlers shared the wickets with CSNI seamer Matthew Foster claiming 3 for 15, Aditya Adey (2-20) and CJ van der Walt (2-24), while there was one apiece for Tom Mayes and Cian Robertson.

The Emerging Knights are in action twice on Friday playing Ireland U19s and the NW Warriors in T20 games.
