There was a little bit of history made at Ballymagorry as the North West played their first Under 13 girls interprovincial, taking on Leinster.

It was a contest befitting of the occasion as the visitors recovered from an incredible opening spell by Mansi Bhavsar who took five wickets for just one run.

Five wickets hero

Lienkes De Klerk of YMCA rescued their innings as she top scored with 34 sharing a 58-run stand with Pembroke's Georgia Beatty (9).

A total of 78 for 7 gave the Leinster bowlers something to defend and that they did as skipper Alice Tector conceded just 1 run in her three overs as well as picking up a wicket.

Zoe Bell and Erin Knight also took wickets as the North West finished on 63 for 6, with Lucy Neely top scoring with 20 on her home ground.

A great game played in wonderful conditions. Well done all.
