John Glass channeled his inner Garfield Sobers to hit six sixes off the last over to win the NCU T20 Trophy for Ballymena against a shell-shocked Cregagh.
Chasing 148 to win, Ballymena had been reduced to 113 for 7 with just six balls remaining.
That they were still in with a mathematical chance was due solely to the efforts of Glass who was on 51 not out as the last over, bowled by Adam Beattie began.
John Glass was Man of the Match
Glass connected cleanly with every delivery sending the ball sailing over the ropes six times much to the delight of his Eaton Park team mates to clinch a barely believable win.
He finished 87 not out, with 6 fours and 8 sixes in an innings which made the Man of the Match award a mere formality.
Charlie Shannon (3-17) and Ross Boultwood (2-4) had both bowled superbly to put Cregagh in control before Glass took centre stage.
Cregagh's total of 147 for 7 was dominated by an opening stand of 114 in 15 overs between Johnny Moore (52) and Jay Hunter (40).
Wickets tumbled though as they tried to up the ante, with Sam Glass (3-5) taking a hat-trick and Peter Bristow (2-32) stalling their momentum.
A quite incredible game, and a privilege for all those who were there to witness a little piece of cricketing history.
