Leinster Under 13s beat their NCU counterparts by 55 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the four-match series at Pirrie Park on Wednesday.

A solid batting effort saw the young Dubliners score 167 with Lorcan Craik (37), Brian Dunphy (27), Yousaf Shah (25), and Ethan Marshall (18) the main contributors.

For the hosts Jacob McKeown took four wickets for nine runs, while Conor McVicker picked up two.

In the chase Luca Bates made 43 to give the NCU hopes of an upset, but Raif Duncan's three wickets was instrumental in sealing a 55-run win.

The teams meet in the third game of the series today (THURS) at the same venue, while the fourth and final game takes place on Friday at Ringcommons.
