Orla Prendergast’s maiden century led her Typhoons side to victory by 33 runs in the Super 50 Cup at Rush.
The stand-in skipper shared a third wicket stand of 125 with Sarah Forbes, who hit nine boundaries in her even time 73.

Prendergast went on to score the fourth hundred in Super Series history, joining an exclusive club of former internationals Cecelia Joyce, Meg Kendall and Clare Shillington.
She eventually fell for 116, as the Typhoons posted 259 for 8.
For the Scorchers, Waringstown leg-spinner Cara Murray’s 2 for 36 showed great control and use of flight, while MacMahon’s 1-44 and McEvoy’s 1-18 provided good seam support.
The Scorchers chase was soon in deep trouble at 86 for 6, but they were given hope by Lara Maritz and Jenny Sparrow, who made 40.

Maritz and Australian Ashlee King then went on a boundary blitz hitting eight fours and a six between them as part of a 60-run ninth wicket stand in just 46 balls.
It was to be Prendergast though who had the final say as she dismissed Maritz for 78, and then dismissed Kate McEvoy to seal a 33-run win.
