Neil Rock is believed to be considering a loan move to NCU side Carrickfergus ahead of the new season.

The Ireland Wolves and Northern Knights wicket-keeper batsman normally plays his club cricket in Leinster with Rush, but the province hasn't been given the green light to resume their domestic cricket yet.

His Dublin team mate Nathan McGuire joined NW side Glendermott on a similar deal earlier this week, while Harry Tector was also mulling over a temporary switch to Waringstown, but this now seems unlikely unless circumstances change.

For Rock, if the move goes ahead, it will be an opportunity to hook up with his former Ireland Under 19 Coach Ryan Eagleson.

There would be no more appropriate club for the 20 year-old to join in the region - Carrickfergus, known in Irish as 'Carraig Fhearghais' translates as 'Rock of Fergus'.
