The European Cricket Network carried out the draw for their European Cricket Championship tournament yesterday.

The 15 teams are in three groups, with the group winners and best two runners-up qualifying for the finals week.

Scotland A will likely be the favourites in Group A which will take place from 13-17 September and they will play Belgium, Norway, Sweden and home team Spain. Their Dutch counterparts head up Group B - scheduled for 20-24 September and their opponents will be Austria, Hungary, Portugal and Romania.

The favourites in Group C are a little less clear cut with England being represented by an XI from the National Counties Cricket Association (the former Minor Counties) and the group also featuring Germany and Italy, the two strongest full national teams in the tournament. Finland and the Czech Republic round out that group, which will start on 27 September.

Finals week will take place from 4-8 October.

The hosts venue for the tournament was also announced, with the Cartama Oval in Malaga gaining the honours.
