The German Cricket Federation have announced that their women’s team will play a five match T20I series against their French counterparts as both teams prepare for the European leg of qualification for the 2023 T20 World Cup.

The matches will be played at Germany’s national performance centre in Krefeld from 8-11 July.

Germany were last in action back in August of last year when they whitewashed Austria in a five match series that was the first T20I action since the Covid-19 pandemic shut down international cricket in March. The sole T20Is played by France were six during a quadrangular series they hosted in Nantes in 2019 against Jersey, Austria and Norway, where they emerged as winners.

Both teams will play in the European qualifier in Scotland at the end of August where, in addition to the hosts, they will come up against Ireland, Netherlands and Turkey.
