Newbuildings have confirmed the signing of Ryan Hunter from Brigade.

The 28 year-old left-hander had joined the Beechgrove club for a second spell last season after three years spent in the NCU with CIYMS.

"I'm excited with the new challenge," Hunter told CricketEurope.

"Hopefully I can help bring trophies to the club and give the fans something to enjoy.

"I'm heading to play for the village where I come from, with family members including my brother Ross who is making a comeback, and also Jason Dunn."

Ryan is a former U19 international, playing in the 2012 World Cup in Australia, and also scored 72 in an appearance for Ireland A against Sussex II.

He has made five appearances at interpro level, making 37 on his return to the Warriors squad in 2020 after a four year absence.

As well as his family connections with Newbuildings, he will have familiar faces in the form of former Brigade team mates Johnny Thompson and Gareth McKeegan who helped the side win the Faughan Valley Cup in 2020.
