Bready beat Fox Lodge by 28 runs to win the North West Women's Cup completing a memorable season in which they also won the league title.

Skipper Alana Dalzell led from the front as she top scored with 36 as the Magheramason side posted 98 for 8 in their 20 overs, with Abbie McKnight chipping in with 16.

Angel Laird and Lucy Neely both had figures of 2 for 8, while there was also a wicket apiece for Mollie Devine, Sarah Black and Lucy Bates.

The Fox Lodge chase got off to the worst possible start as Sarah Black was bowled first ball by Steph Wilkinson (2-14) and the Ballymagorry side struggled to get anywhere near the required rate.

Mollie Devine made an unbeaten 26, but the Bready bowling unit never relinquished their grip on proceedings as Fox Lodge finished on 70 for 7.

Dalzell was named Player of the Match for her 36 and bowling of 1-9 from four overs.

Bready will now play in the All-Ireland T20 semi-final against CSNI on Saturday September 11th, with the winners playing Pembroke later the same day.
