The Scorchers won both T20 matches against the Typhoons at Oak Hill to clinch the title.

Two wickets apiece from Hannah Little (2-9) and Eimear Richardson (2-23) had the Typhoons in early trouble in the morning match, and it took a hard-hit 35 off 31 balls from Georgina Dempsey - including three boundaries in an over - to get them to a modest total of 96.

Despite the early losses of Gaby Lewis and Eimear Richardson, Player of the Match Leah Paul's unbeaten 44* and Lara Maritz (29no), ensured a comfortable seven wicket win.

In the second game, the Typhoons fared a little better with the bat as they posted 111-8, with Phoenix all-rounder Dempsey again top-scoring, this time with 28 from 23 balls.

Ashlee King (2-21) and Cara Murray (2-27) were the pick of the Scorchers attack.

Jane Maguire claimed two early wickets, but a third wickets stand of 65-run between Gaby Lewis (50) and Shauna Kavanagh (32*) put the Scorchers in a strong position to win.

With the finish line in sight, the Typhoons chase stalled, and they almost lost it in a tense finale, with Dempsey impressing in the death overs.

A dropped catch allowed the Typhoons to get a tie, and with Lewis to the fore, they won the Super Over in dominant fashion by 21 runs.

Gaby Lewis was named Player of the Match for her half-century and devastating 19* in the Super Over.
