Balbriggan have confirmed the signing of Greg Ford from Malahide.

He has been at Malahide along with younger brother Matt for three seasons, and has represented Leinster Lightning on seven occasions.

"We are delighted to have a player of Greg's quality on board," said a Balbriggan spokesperson.

"Coach Andre Botha is looking forward to working with Greg in what is hopefully going to be a full and busy 2021 season."

Malahide had announced the departure earlier this week.

"Greg Ford has advised the club of his intentions to leave Malahide CC the for the 2021 season," said a club statement on Twitter.

"We would like to thank Greg for his services to date and wish him all the best for the future."

Balbriggan have signed Andre Botha as their new Head Coach this year, while recently Shahid Iqbal also joined the club from Rush along with his two sons.

Ford, son of Ireland Head Coach Graham, will certainly strengthen the club's batting.

It wasn't all bad news for Malahide, who confirmed that Matt would be remaining at the Village club for the forthcoming campaign.
