Dundrum's new coach is Dan Kearsley, signed from Bridgenorth in Shropshire.
Dan is a level 2 ECB coach and will be involved in all aspects of coaching from the club juniors to seniors.
He will also be involved with coaching in local primary schools together with the annual finals day at The Meadow.
In 2021 the club is excited to be going into Shimna Integrated College, Newcastle for boys and girls and hopefully we can get hard soft ball friendlies with Kilkeel high school and few others and build the great game of cricket in the area.
Dan is 24 years old, has a good CV and is a very fine fast bowler who has had trials at Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire and is very excited about coming to play in Dundrum.
The fact he has signed a two year contract says a lot about both him and the villagers plans to push on their rebuilding programme.
The villagers struggled with losing a lot of experienced players but their young players have gained lots experience and have benefited from getting the chance to open the battng and bowling.
Stuart Campbell at 19 has already scored a hundred and is an excellent fast bowler. Dan's coaching should help to get the extra yard out of the best all rounder at the meadow.
The youth policy has been the driving force behind the clubs revival brothers Terry and Greg Hutley open the batting and with all rounders captain James Martin, Andrew Foster, Scott Symington and Liam Kearsley they have a good young side.
The experience of Davy Glover, Joel Maguire and Gavin Mcnerlin will no doubt make the villagers a lot more competitive in the 40 over format in 2021.
