Stephen Doheny is looking forward to the next chapter in his cricketing journey as he joins Merrion from Rush.
The 22 year-old is on the fringes of the international set-up and a new challenge at Anglesea Road where he will keep wickets as well as bat in the top order may just be the catalyst required to challenge Gary Wilson and Lorcan Tucker.
"I am excited about the move," Doheny told CricketEurope.
"I have been fortunate to have formulated some good friendships with players in Merrion, and am looking forward to the season.
"I feel it is a good opportunity for me to focus on my game and keep wickets week in and week out."
It was a tough decision for him to move from his boyhood club, with whom he won the National Cup three times.
"Rush have been fantastic to me over the years.
"I canít thank everyone at the club enough for everything and would like to wish everyone there the best of luck for the future."
