Cricket Switzerland has notified the ICC of their intention to submit an application for Associate Membership before the end of the year.

In 2012 the ICC suspended the Swiss Cricket Association due to non-compliance, when there were in effect two organisations claiming to represent the country.

Since then, Cricket Switzerland was formed in 2014 and has grown in size and stature.

It has been a member of the Swiss Olympic Association from 2018, being recognized domestically as the body responsible for cricket in the country.

Cricket Switzerland in their posting say: “Currently, documentation supporting all the membership criteria is being collated and will be submitted to the ICC in November. If the application is accepted, Cricket Switzerland’s membership will be put to the ICC AGM due to take place mid-year 2021.”
