CIYMS won the war of attrition as they defended 110 to beat YMCA by 15 runs and earn the right to represent Ireland at the 2021 European League in La Manga.
It was a game which ebbed and flowed throughout, on a pitch that made scoring and timing the ball with any fluency very difficult.
The Belfast side are masters at defending totals, and in such conditions their bowling unit are a battle hardened proposition who know every trick in the book.
Batting first CIYMS posted 110 for 6, thanks primarily to the efforts of Nigel Jones, who top scored with 41, hitting two sixes in a late charge which got them past three figures.
22 came off one crucial over, as the former Irish international targeted teenage spinner Cillian McDonnell, who had played such an integral role in winning their maiden All-Ireland crown 24 hours earlier.

It was still probably about 10-20 runs under par despite the turgid track, but boosted by the bowling return of opening bowlers Allen Coulter and Mark Adair, the NCU side soon applied early pressure.
Adair struck twice in his opening over, having Jack Tector caught behind, then bowling Harry Tector just four balls later - a huge blow for YM hopes.
Simi Singh (22) kept the board ticking, but played an injudicious shot trying to clear long on when there really was no need.
Curtis Campher (17) and Tim Tector (11) kept the board ticking along, but Jones accounted for both in his first over, both deceived by the low, skiddy bounce.
Rory Anders and Bobby Gamble gave the Dubliners hope with a stand of 32 in four overs, hitting a combined five of the eight boundaries their side managed.
With 24 needed off 18 balls, the contest was evenly poised, but that soon changed as James Cameron-Dow bowled Gamble, much to the delight of the home support.
The left-arm spinner then finished proceedings in style with a final over hat-trick as CIYMS closed out the win.
Their prize is a trip to Spain for eight days next April for the European League, where they will be one of 16 teams involved in the 32-game tournament.
