The planned Central Europe Cup tournament scheduled to be held later this month in the Czech Republic has been cancelled.

The competition was to feature six teams with the hosts being joined by Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Luxembourg and Malta.

A statement today on the Czech Cricket account stated: "Due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in Prague the 2020 CE Cup scheduled for Sept 24 - 27 and was to feature has unfortunately been cancelled."

It's a bitter blow for the countries who had hoped for some competitive action ahead of hopefully some vital qualifiers in 2021.
