Fox Lodge Women secured a third cup win in a row after a 14-run win against Eglinton in the final at Ballymagorry. Eglinton were in the ascendancy as early wickets for Jennie Jackson had the holders in trouble at 12 for 3. However skipper Hannah McLaughlin proved the player for the crisis as her 26 saw Fox Lodge recover to 59 for 5 in their ten overs. 22 runs came off the last two overs and they were to prove vital in the final equation.

The Eglinton chase found it difficult to keep up with the required rate due to a combination of the slow outfield and accurate Fox Lodge bowling. Despite the best efforts of Zara Craig (24*) they finished 14 runs adrift on 45 for 1.

It completed a remarkable treble for Foxies player Mollie Devine who also won a cup double for Parkfield CC in Australia during her time there earlier this year with the Melbourne club.

The 20 year-old all-rounder finished top run scorer in both competitions, winning the T20 and one-day premiership titles. Devine bowled the last over in the one-day final with four needed, keeping their opponents to just two runs to seal a remarkable win.

Parkfield were among the first to congratulate her on another cup triumph saying: “Mollie is like having a coach on the pitch with the players.

"She is great under pressure and that was evident in the grand final when she showed nerves of steel. With bat or ball, she is a born winner.”
