VRA edged out Sparta in a tense T20 final with Leon Turmaine playing a key role, following up another Man of the Match display in the semi-finals.

Vikram Singh (39) top scored in VRA's total of 131 for 9, with Turmaine (25 off 24 balls) and Gunning (27 off 20) chipping in with vital contributions.

Turmaine then struck two early blows as Sparta's chase suffered a stuttering start.

They recovered to set up a tense finale requiring five from the last two balls, but a terrible mix-up going for a second sealed a three-run win for the Amsterdam Bos side.

Turmaine had remarkable figures of 3 for 3 in their semi-final rout of HBS, skittled for just 38.

The other semi-final was a low-scoring thriller, Sparta sealing the final slot with the last pair at the crease chasing just 85!

VRA skipper Peter Borren paid tribute to Turmaine on social media saying:

"Leon Turmaine was man of the match in both games for us on finals day.

And deservedly so, a great all round performance by a guy who works on his game quietly and seldom gets recognition.

Well played my man."
