FOX LODGE FACE EGLINTON IN WOMEN’S FINAL
It's the showpiece occasion for the Women's game in the NW as holders Fox Lodge face new kids on the block Eglinton in the Cup Final at Ballymagorry on Friday night. We get the views of respective captains Hannah McLaughlin and Megan McClintock.
It’s been a stop-start season for the women’s game, but the opportunity to end the season on a high is a welcome one for Fox Lodge skipper Hannah McLaughlin whose side are going for a hat-trick of wins in the competition.
“We are all looking forward to the cup final on Friday night and are eager to get it played," said McLaughlin.

"Having won the cup the past two years definitely makes us more determined now to keep it in the Foxies for a third year.
“We know Eglinton will be an enjoyable match and games against them are always competitive. We have worked hard as a team this year with minimum games and challenging weather but if there’s a chance to play cricket the ladies are always keen to get going.
“We have introduced a few new players to the team, and a cup final is a great experience for them. As the saying goes, may the best team win!”
By contrast, Eglinton are playing in the showpiece contest for the first time, and their skipper Megan McClintock admits there's a real sense of anticipation at the village club ahead of the decider.
"I think we’re all really excited at Eglinton about playing in the Ladies Cup Final," she began.
"It’s the first time we’ve been in the final and it’s a testament to all the hard work the girls and coaches have put in over the last few years at the club.

"We have some players who are really peaking into form at the right end of the season especially Zara Craig, Alice McLaughlin, Arianna McKenna and Lauren Whiteside who all excelled in the semi-final against Bready.
"Hopefully they can go out and do something similar against Fox Lodge.
"I’m hoping we can go out on Friday and show people just how much we’ve progressed and have a really good game against Fox Lodge."
Play in the ten-over game gets under way at 6.30pm, with spectators welcome at Ballymagorry.
