A fine bowling display by NCU Women ensured they won the opening match against Jersey by 35 runs.
Storm Francis necessitated a change of venue, with Stormont stepping in to host the encounter.
Batting first the NCU were restricted to what looked about a par total of 93 for 5, with the Channel Island side fielding tigerishly backing up their bowlers who stuck to their task well.
Skipper Amy Caulfield top scored with 21 and there were also solid contributions from Amy Hunter (18), Amy Benson (15), debutant Rachel Thomas (12*) and Natasha Morton (11).
