Marc Ellison has been called into the Northern Knights squad for their T20 Trophy clash with Leinster Lightning at Comber tomorrow.

The CSNI opener has been in prolific form for his club, but has a hard act to follow in the footsteps of Paul Stirling.

Stirling's Man of the Match performance helped the Knights get the defence of their crown off to a winning start up in the NW last week, but he will miss the rest of the campaign.

There's one other addition to the Knights squad, with David Delany coming in having missed the match at Bready.

Leinster Lightning also made a winning start, with their crushing win against Munster Reds taking them to the top of the table, courtesy of a bonus point.

Skipper George Dockrell returns having missed the game due to examinations in Data Warehousing and Online Analytical Processing.

They will be missing Gareth Delany and Andrew Balbirnie for at least three weeks due to their involvement in the Blast with Leicestershire and Gloucestershire, but will still have nine internationals in their ranks.

Yet to win a senior cap are leg-spinning all-rounder Fiachra Tucker, Malahide's Greg Ford, Rush skipper Stephen Doheny - who was originally named in the Munster squad - and YMCA's former Ireland U19 international Rory Anders.

It should be quite a contest with such an array on talent on show, and the outcomes of their head-to-head clashes will more than likely decide who will be crowned champions.

Action at Comber gets underway on Tuesday at 3pm.
