The Jersey Girls are making the trip to Belfast next week to play a four match series against their Northern Cricket Union counterparts.

The NCU were due to visit the island in July but Covid-19 restrictions put paid to that forcing a postponement until 2021.

Jersey's Cricket Development Manager Lee Meloy is no stranger to the Belfast cricket scene having spent time assisting Simon Johnston, the Northern Knights Head-Coach in the Irish Interprovincial competition during the past two seasons.
It is this relationship that has enabled this mutually beneficial venture to take place.

Talking about the trip Lee said:
"I'm really glad that we have been able to put this trip together, it's a real positive in what has been an unusual season.

"We have a young squad whose average age is just seventeen who have been training regularly once that became possible post COVID restrictions.

The girls are really looking forward to the trip and the chance to test themselves against strong opposition outside Jersey"

The venues for the fixtures are as follows:
Tuesday 25th - Campbell College 5pm
Wednesday 26th - Cregagh Cricket Club 2pm
Thursday 27th - Civil Service North CC, Stormont 5.30pm (following the 1.30 Senior Interprovincial fixture)
