Coleraine are the first side through to the semi-finals of the NW Senior Cup after a maximum point  57-run win against Ballyspallen ensured they can't be caught by second-placed Eglinton.

Batting first, Will Smale (2) fell cheaply, but a second wicket stand of 75 between Scott Campbell and Graham Hume laid a solid foundation for the Bannsiders.

Campbell hit 5 fours and 4 sixes as he top scored with 68* from 55 balls, while Hume also hit 5 fours and one maximum in his 42 from 40 balls.

Stephen Kennedy (2-8) dismissed Hume and David Cooke in quick succession, but a late charge by Campbell and Matthew Hutchinson (13*) saw 52 scored from last five overs as they totalled 135 for 3.

In reply, Ballyspallen were never in serious contention  offering little resistance other than James Thompson  who hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in a breezy 31.

Skipper Stephen Hutchinson (3-12) and Adam Whitcroft (2-8) the pick of the attack as 'Spallen were out for 78 from the last ball.

Coleraine will go into the open draw, but must wait until next Saturday until their possible opponents are known when the final round of group matches is played.
