ROSS Adair is in line to make his Twenty20 debut for Northern Knights in the first inter-provincial of the season next week against North West Warriors after being chosen in a provisional 16-man squad for the six-match series.
The squad will be reduced to match-day panels of 13 but Adair, whose latest big-hitting pyrotechnics produced 92 runs from 38 balls for Civil Service North against Carrickfergus on Saturday, is the player in form.
His brother, Mark, is one of 11 internationals the Knights selectors can call upon including Paul Stirling who will be available for only the opening game at Bready on Thursday week.
Harry Tector, another of the heroes of Southampton last week, will again play for the Knights this year along with David Delany, hopefully fully fit, while South Africans Ruhan Pretorius, Josh Manley and CJ van der Walt, all seeking Irish qualifiication, are also included.
Tector’s younger brother Tim, meanwhile, was the star of the show in the first Ireland Under-17 intra-squad came at Carrick yesterday, hitting 79 off 54 balls, including four sixes, as the Greens beat the Blues, for whom Wilhelm de Klerk smashed five sixes in his 39-ball 63, in the first of four games this week. The second is today (noon start).
