Eglinton kept alive their hopes of catching runaway T20 group leaders Coleraine on Sunday after they posted an 8-wicket home win over Ballyspallen.

The Bannsiders have won all three of their outings to date but this was a first victory in the new format for Andy Millar's men.

James Thompson fared best for them as he made 33 while Luke Gilfillan added 18 and Steven McCluskey 17* in their total of 95-4 from 20 overs.

Stevie Dunn, Mark Averill, Robbie Millar and Richard Wylie picked up a wicket apiece for the home side who then passed the target with relative ease.

Tommy Orr made 18 at the top of the order before Jamie Millar hit an unbeaten 48 from 34 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes) as he and Craig Averill (15*) closed out an 8-wicket win.
