Zara Craig top scored with an unbeaten 38 as the NW beat the NCU by six wickets in the U19 Girls interprovincial game at Coleraine.

The conditions were far from ideal, and the development nature of the contest was shown by the NW giving all their players a bowl, plus allowing the NCU opener to bat twice.

The NCU batters found the going tough against a disciplined NW attack with Eglinton's Alice McLaughlin (3-6) and team-mate Craig (2-5) doing most of the damage as they slumped to 30 for 9.

Opener Sam Todd found the going easier second time around as she and Hanna reached double figures in their total of 63.

Zara Craig ensured victory hitting four boundaries in her 38 before she retired, while Cody Wallace also hit 12 before she too retired.

Hanna picked up two wickets, but the NW were always in control.

Well done to both teams for braving the elements to get a result.
