There was frustration for the Under 17 sides of Leinster and Munster on Wednesday when their clash at The Mardyke was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The T20 match was scheduled to get underway at 12pm but persistent drizzle left the match officials with little choice but to call the game off shortly after 1pm.

Leinster had announced their squad just before the scheduled start, which was a predominantly North Dublin line-up with three from Malahide, two from North County and one each from Rush and The Hills.

There are still five matches scheduled for the age-group with the return in Dublin as well as four matches against the NCU.
