DONEMANA have wasted no time in asserting their authority in Group 1 of the T20 Championship.

The T20 holders completed their second straight maximum points win with a crushing 124 runs success at Bonds Glen in a game which was actually called off two hours before the scheduled start.

But Donemana insisted on making the short journey, the umpires said the ground was playable and the McClintock brothers took full advantage piling on 103 for the second wicket. When William was out, after hitting six fours and four sixes in his 55, Gary kept going and was finally dismissed for 87, which included only two fours but 11 sixes!

There was still time for Dwayne McGerrigle to blast a quick 21 not out at the end as Donemana finished on 217-7, a total the Bee Gees never threatened with Gary McClintock hurrying the match to a conclusion with four wickets in 17 balls.

The abandoned game between Ardmore and Killyclooney leaves both teams stranded without a win af the bottom.

Just three points separate the top three teams in the other two groups however after an abandoned game in each section.

Glendermott were the big winners in Group 2, with St Johnston (37-1) four runs behind the DLS par score when rain ended the game eight overs into their innings, in pursuit of the visitors 125-7. Brigade and Newbuildings did get started but only 15 balls were bowled in the second innings with five overs the minimum requirement for a result.

Bready were the other winners, in Group 3, after restricting Strabane to 74-9 and a score of 33-2 from six overs was more than enough and allowed them to move within touching distance of Burndennett and Fox Lodge whose game was another casualty.
